Gatsby Essay Prompt answers

Well Im not really sure if this is suppose to be an essay or just answer the questions so I hope this covers everything.

Everyone has that one person who we can call the, " the cheese to my macaroni," or the "laces to my shoes." It's that one person we can depend on and know you can trust, which can also be known as a confidant. A confidant is usually a friend or relative of a hero, who is there for the hero when they need someone to rely on. In the book The Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway is seen as the confidant, who helps Gatsby in his time of need, helping him get closer to the life he wanted, and in a ways escape his past. With Nick being the narrator of the story, the reader can see direct contact with Nick and Gatsby,and see how Nick imagines and thinks of Gatsby. Through their conversations, Nick was able ot get first hand of what Gatsby was all about and how he was personally. Despite the fact that Gatsby was a very mysterious and reserved man Nick as able to get close with Gatsby and get a look of his past. Nick also helped Gatsby reunite with his love, Daisy, and would help arrange meetings with his lover, knowing that she was married, and keeping everything a secret.  

Character project

so here's the dealieo!:o Karla, Melissa, nd my self were all going to do this project together since someone us had to go out of town we didn't really get to put our project together but here's what we might do once we all get together tomorrow....I was thinking of getting characters from different popular movies today that everyone can recognize and each will relate to a certain character from the Great Gatsby nd since one the thing on everybody's mind right now is prom we' ll wrap it around that idea.

The End of Gatsby

• Nick is worried about Wilson going after Gatsby
• Nick goes to Gatsbys house and Gatsby tells him about his early life, when he used to be with Daisy, and how he would take blame for Daisy killing myrtle in the crash
• Tom tells Wilson that Gatsby was the one that killed myrtle in the car crash, so Wilson went to Gatsby's house and shot him then shot him self
• two years later Nick is talking about Gatsbys death and his funeral
• nobody was to go to his funeral, some even said he deserved it, this kinda shows what kind of man Gatsby was
• Nick calls a lot of people trying to find people who will come but everyone is either busy or just doesn't want to go
• nick contacts Tom and Daisy, they moved and have left no address, nick realizes they are selfish low life people are are just wrapped around money and social views
• Nick finds Gatsbys father, he has so much pride in his son saying he was always determined and had a future ahead of him
• the only people who go to his wedding are nick, owl eyes, Gatsbys father, and a few of his servants

Chapter 7 reading notes

• Gatsby nd daisy are accepting nd showi g their love to each other; Gatsby stops throwing all of his big parties since the only reason for them was to attract daisy nd now that their together he doesn't need the parties anymore
• Gatsby fire all of his servants to prevent any gossip about his and Daisy's love for each other 
• Tom is starting to suspect nd finally realize the feeling this wife lost for him nd that she is more in love with Gatsby but he doesn't want to accept it and just let her go
• they all meet at Toms and Daisy's house and the love and feelings toward daisy nd Gatsby are very obvious nd tom knows that he's loosing her 
• I'm realizes that what happening between daisy and Gatsby is the same thing he's doing with myrtle nd Wilson, even tho Tom is a rude nd pretty selfish guy he still has some human decency in him nd he feels bad bout what he's done
• Gatsby finally meet Daisy's daughter nd I shocked to see that she was really "alive"; him and daisy are starting. to see that you can't run away from your past and can't undo your mistakes
• it seems like daisy feels her relationship with Tom nd having kids was a mistake
• They all take off into the city nd the truth gets out
•       Gatsby reveals his love for daisy infront of Tom nd that their love is more real than what Tom and daisy ever had 
• Daisy knows she made a mistake being with both men nd now she says she loves both of them when really she's in love with Gatsby

• Gatsby's real name is James Gatz
•     he was a bootlegger nd didn't want the police after him
• he explains about his background more in this chapter, about how's he's from North Dakota, nd his friend Cody
• Cody left him his inheritance money but his wife didn't let Gatsby take the money, encouraging Gatsby to dedicate his life to being successful
• Nick hasn't seen Gatsby or Daisy together for a couple weeks but finds Tom at Gatsbys house
•     Nick is shocked because he knows how Gatsby feels about Tom nd how he doesn't deserve Daisy 
•      Keep your friend close, keep your enemies closer
• Tom starts realizing Gatsby's nd Daisy's little connection nd starts to keep an eye on Daisy

Brave New World Essay Refelction

Weeellllll today could have gone a lot better, but for the most part I think I did well on my essay. Once again, I feel like managing my time and laying out my pre-write is what I struggle on the most, because I can never fit in my conclusion or all the examples and points I want to mention. I know thats what I need to work on the most, and also having confidence in my writing and not letting the pressure of tie get to me. However, I feel my pre-write did help me see what I wanted to base my essay on and layout my main focuses, just using my time wisely into making my pre write is what I need to remember for next time.
